In order to understand and meet the needs of the community we serve, the Board, leadership and staff of The Children’s Institute engaged in a rigorous 18-month strategic development process in 2011 and 2012. As part of that process, we initiated a Community Health Needs Assessment in April 2011 to identify potential gaps in service and determine an effective course of action for the future. Strategy Solutions, Inc. was retained to assist with data collection and facilitation of the process.
This assessment contains both quantitative and qualitative data sources, along with significant internal and external stakeholder input. It is the basis of our four-year strategic plan to guide The Children’s Institute through a transformational shift in our community role and expansion of our programs and services to best meet identified needs.
To comply with the requirements of the Federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and to continue to be responsive to changing needs in the community, we will conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment every three years.
The Children’s Institute is grateful to everyone who participated in this process.
