Getting to our Squirrel Hill location is a breeze when you have good directions!
From Pittsburgh via I-376:
Take the Squirrel Hill/Homestead Exit (5). Turn left off the exit onto Forward Avenue (the first left as soon as you exit) and stay in the left-hand lane. Turn left onto Murray Avenue. Follow Murray Avenue past through several travel lights until you reach the intersection with Northumberland Street. Make a right onto Northumberland Street and go one block to the intersection with Shady Avenue. Make a left onto Shady Avenue. The entrance is halfway down the block on the right.
From the Pennsylvania Turnpike:
Take Exit #57 toward Pittsburgh. Merge onto I-376 west toward Pittsburgh. Take Exit #7, Edgewood/Swissvale. At the light at the end of the ramp, turn right onto S. Braddock Avenue. Go almost one mile to the intersection with Forbes Avenue, turn left onto Forbes Avenue. At the third light, turn right onto Shady Avenue. Follow Shady Avenue past Northumberland Street. The entrance is on the right.
From the Liberty Bridge:
Take the Boulevard of the Allies to I-376 East. Take Squirrel Hill Exit #5. Follow the directions to The Children’s Institute listed under From Pittsburgh via I-376.
From the Airport:
Take PA 60 and I-279 North to Pittsburgh and I-376 East to Squirrel Hill Exit #5. Follow the directions to The Children’s Institute listed under From Pittsburgh via I-376.
From I-279 South:
Take I-279 to I-579, the Crosstown Expressway, toward downtown Pittsburgh. Follow signs to I-376 east and take the Squirrel Hill Exit #5. Follow the directions to The Children’s Institute listed under From Pittsburgh via I-376.
From Route 8 or 28:
Take the Highland Park Bridge to Washington Boulevard. Washington Boulevard becomes Fifth Avenue at the intersection of Penn Avenue. Proceed on Fifth Avenue and turn left onto Shady Avenue. Follow Shady Avenue across Wilkins Avenue. The entrance is immediately on the left.
