Ways to Give
Each gift to The Children's Institute has the power to enhance, improve and change lives, both for those who give and those who receive.
Give Where it is Needed Most
By directing The Children’s Institute to use your gift where it is needed most, you are helping to meet our most urgent needs: innovative services not typically covered by insurance, leading-edge equipment for our classrooms, and covering the costs of caring for children whose families can't afford the needed treatments.
Make a Gift of Stock or Securities
Gifts of marketable stocks or mutual fund shares that have increased in value are a great way to help The Children’s Institute and create an immediate income tax deduction for you based on the assets' current value.

Make Wishes Come True
Make a direct and immediate impact on children with special needs by helping to purchase vital equipment used in therapies, family services and education of the children we serve.

Plan Gifts for the Future
Make a planned gift to The Children’s Institute and extend much-needed care to children — and achieve your financial goals at the same time. A bequest to The Children's Institute often decreases your estate's tax bill. A life income gift generates immediate tax savings and annual income for you or a beneficiary.

Give by Selling on eBay
You can make a gift by selling items on eBay and donating all or a portion of the sales!
The Mission Fish nonprofit organization and the eBay Giving Works program make it possible for sellers to give proceeds from their sales to a favorite nonprofit, and for nonprofits to raise funds by selling on eBay too. Nonprofits can also receive donations from eBay users through the Donate Now feature, which lets anyone with a PayPal account donate to nonprofits right away –without buying or selling anything.

Project STAR's Annual Holiday Gift Drive
Traditionally, the holidays are a time of sharing memories and giving gifts to family and friends. At Project STAR at The Children's Institute, it means our annual holiday gift drive.
This year, more than ever, Project STAR families need support. Many of them are struggling to provide even basic necessities for their children. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Project STAR was able to fulfill the holiday wishes of 80 children in 2008. For the past twelve years, the holiday gift drive has provided gifts for the children and families we serve throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.
Your support of the Holiday Gift Drive will make the holidays brighter for children and families like the Does. Please contact Rachel Marx at 412.244.3051 to sponsor a child or family by purchasing gifts from their wish list. You may also support our families through a monetary donation to Project STAR at The Children's Institute.
Volunteer Your Time
Nearly 200 individuals volunteer at The Children's Institute every year--and we continue to grow! Our Community Resources and Training department coordinates the many vital things volunteers do to help patients, patient families and hospital staff. Whether spending time with a young patient, aiding in a classroom or helping in The Children’s Institute’s administrative offices, your time, passion and expertise is an invaluable gift.
