Family Credits The Children's Institute
Wednesday, Aug 12, 2009
The Sanchez family credits The Hospital at The Children's Institute for the health of their child, Estee Sanchez, who was a patient in the Prader-Willi program in 2007. They told the Kane Chronicle that the program taught them ways to deal with the syndrome, and to promote healthy habits in Estee.
The family continues to adapt their eating habits to the "Red, Yellow, Green" program and closely monitors Estee's food consumption and exercise regime. The entire family is supportive of Estee and does everything they can to ensure her success.
Moving forward, the family plans to maintain their focus on Estee's health and plan for her future, including looking at special schools in their area that can support her needs. Ultimately, they want Estee to be healthy and happy and wish to raise awareness of the syndrome and try to help others who may be in similar situations.
