The Children's Institute and The Early Learning Institute (teli) Announce New Affiliation
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 20, 2020 – Beginning next month, The Early Learning Institute (teli) will officially become an affiliate of the Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh.

This new relationship will bring together two organizations with similar missions and values and allow them to serve even more children across Western Pa.

Both organizations have been recognized for high-quality services and have maintained a strong working relationship for several decades.

“This affiliation provides an opportunity to leverage our combined strengths, provide better access to care, and serve even more children and families across our region,” said Dr. Wendy Pardee, president and CEO at The Children’s Institute. “A key focus of both our Vision 2023 strategic plan and teli’s long-range plan is to create partnerships with like-minded organizations that will extend the scope of our services. We have great respect for the early intervention services that teli has provided for more than 60 years – the shared connections, mission, and vision between the organizations create a natural fit.”

Currently, The Children’s Institute serves more than 9,000 children each year at seven campuses across Western Pa. through educational services, outpatient physical and behavioral health services, and child and family services. teli serves more than 2,000 children in Allegheny and Washington Counties through physical health, developmental, and social work services for children from birth to age three years old.

When it becomes officially integrated into The Children’s Institute on Nov. 1, 2020, teli will retain its status as a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all of its early childhood services will continue without interruption.

“Affiliating with teli increases the range of families and expands the breadth of services The Children’s Institute provides for children from birth all the way to age 21,” said Pardee. “This affiliation is an important step as we look to expand the offerings at The Children’s Institute and become a lifelong partner for individuals with unique needs, beginning at birth and lasting through the rest of their lives.”
