The story of our first patient, Emile Terrenoire
In 1902, Emile Terrenoire lost both of his legs in a train accident. Inspired by his story, Mary Irwin Laughlin founded what was then the Memorial Home for Cripple(d) Children that same year, with Emile as its first resident.
